In 2011, during the Arab Spring, I stayed as a ‘guest’ at the Rixos hotel in Gaddafi-controlled Tripoli. We were only allowed to leave to cover state-sponsored events.

It was an intense lockdown, and when I left, I thought, ‘well that's a once-in-lifetime experience’. But now I see a lot of similarities between our corona quarantine and my time at the Rixos.

So I’ve compiled the lessons I used at the Rixos to help everyone be their best visual storyteller during this unique/crazy time. Stay healthy and safe!
